Abu Dhabi, UAE – From 29 February until 03 March, Emirates Wildlife Society in association with WWF (EWS-WWF) along with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCE) formerly known as Ministry of Environment & Water, co-hosted a series of workshops to engage relevant policy-makers and decision-makers in a discussion on the specific risks and impacts facing their sector of interest. Themes included energy and water, economy and business, and food security. AGEDI participated as a key contributor to offer insightful information about the potential growing risks to food imports, and the impacts of such risks on vulnerable populations within the UAE. Our contributions to the workshop included findings from AGEDI’s Food Security sub-project, one of the 12 sub-projects within four-year Climate Change Programme. The feedback from the Stakeholders who attended the workshop will be incorporated in the ‘EWS WWF – UAE Climate Impacts and Risks’ report. An adaptation workshop will be hosted by MoCCE in April 2016.
